Musical festival in the Aral sea
"Stihia" is a festival of electronic music, art, and science.
Set against the mesmerizing backdrop of the desert, at what was once a bustling port on the Aral Sea, now known as the "graveyard" of ships, "Stihia" has been held annually since 2018. This year, the festival returns to its historically significant location in the city of Muynak, where it has taken place since its inception, excluding last year.
This year's music lineup features over 50 artists from around the world—ranging from avant-garde electronic music pioneers to experimental acoustic acts and ambient sounds.
At the festival, three musical communities from Central Asia will showcase their work, helping shape the region’s modern club culture. These include the pioneering electronic music scenes—spanning from primal tribal sounds to post-industrial hardcore, through the labyrinth of acid and techno—represented by the Frumos and Sublimation communities from Uzbekistan, and ZVUK from Kazakhstan.

About ''Stihia" 2025

From May 29 to 31, 2025, the "Stihia" festival of electronic music, art, and science will once again take place in the desert near Muynak. This large-scale event, held annually since 2018, gathers music and culture enthusiasts at the "graveyard" of ships, a symbolic location in Karakalpakstan.
In 2025, the festival will feature both international and local artists, including Aisha Devi (Switzerland), Arushi Jain (India), Jan Jelinek (Germany), Josef Tumari (Uzbekistan), DSL System, LOUD373 (Uzbekistan), Mari Breslavets (Uzbekistan), and Soft Blade (Russia).
In addition to the music program, guests can enjoy masterclasses, workshops, and the "Stihia N+1" forum, which will focus on ecology and sustainable development. The organizers urge visitors to respect nature, sort waste, and use reusable bottles to minimize plastic use.
The festival is supported by the Ministry of Ecology of Uzbekistan. "Stihia" is not just about music but also represents a movement towards conscious regional development, combining culture, science, and ecological awareness.
